VISION
My goal is to deliver effective legal advice and support to my clients so that they can focus on the things that matter to them, whether it is running a business, enjoying their retirement and family, or healing from an injury so that they can return to work as quickly as possible.
I believe that the most effective way to do this is to create direct, one-on-one relationships with my clients. When you ask me to represent you, you are hiring me. Your case will not be reassigned to a paralegal, staff member, or junior attorney. When you have substantive questions about your case or legal needs, your answers will come directly from me. I will personally prepare the documents in connection with your legal matter. And when the time comes for hearings, conferences, and document signings, I will be there from start to finish.
Based on the strength of that one-on-one relationship, I am committed to working with my clients to craft a reliable result that brings to bear the totality of my 20+ years of experience as a legal counselor and advocate. Like all qualified attorneys, I bring to the table an understanding of the legal processes and standards that apply to the situation at hand. But knowledge alone is not enough. My clients also count on me to provide the experience and wisdom that is needed to create a result that fits their particular needs.

Since he was admitted into the Texas Bar in 1992, Matthew Ritchie has practiced in a variety of areas, including complex insurance litigation, insurance agents errors and omissions litigation, wills and estates, probate and probate litigation, workers' compensation, and Social Security disability. Having represented clients all across the spectrum - from major insurance companies to independent insurance agencies, both large and small, to individuals and families - his range of experience provides a unique perspective.
Matthew graduated from Abilene Christian University in 1987 with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Communication. He then went on to obtain a Master's Degree from ACU with an emphasis in conflict management in 1989.
After attending the University of Texas School of Law between 1989 and 1991, he began a career that included extensive work in plaintiff's personal injury litigation and insurance defense litigation, before devoting the majority of his time to insurance agents errors and omissions defense litigation. Today, he owns a solo practice where he continues to represent insurance agents in E&O litigation, but his practice now also includes elder law, wills, trusts, and estates, and representation of parties before the Division of Workers' Compensation of the Texas Department of Insurance.
Matthew is admitted to the bars of the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Western, and Eastern Districts of Texas, as well as the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and Tenth Circuits.
